National 5 Biology

The course comprises 3 areas. The first area, Cell biology, covers cell structure, transport across cell membranes, DNA and the production of proteins, proteins, genetic engineering, respiration, and cell biology test. The second area, Multicellular organisms, covers producing new cells, control and communication, reproduction, variation and inheritance, transport systems of plants, transport system of animals, absorption of material and multicellular organisms test. The third area, Life on Earth, covers ecosystems, distribution of organisms, photosynthesis, energy in ecosystems, food production, evolution of species and life on earth test. Additionally, the course comprises an appendix, which covers apparatus and techniques.
