Advanced Higher Economics

This course comprises 3 sections. The first section covers perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, market failure and government intervention. The second section covers recent trends in the national economy, controlling the budget deficit and the national debt, trends in the Scottish oil industry, global economic issues, globalisation, the European Union and economic growth in developing and emerging economies. The third section covers researching an economic issue including organisation and planning, research sources and writing up your project.
